Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang (L)
Lijiang airport to hotel transfer. Start our tours in the most important Lijiang attraction-Lijiang Old Town. It is a famous minority city with beautiful scenes, long history and splendid culture. With an active atmosphere of the lights, the old town is quite busy in the afternoon and evening. Then come to the Mu’s Mansion, which was once the residential and working site of Naxi rulers of ancient Lijiang. Move on to the Wangu Tower on the top of Lion Hill. The pure wood tower overlooks the scenery of Lijiang at its foot and looks out to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance.

Day 2 Lijiang (B, L)
Today’s highlight is the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. First come to appreciate the Baisha Murals at Baisha Village that nestles beneath the lofty Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The murals, painted over a thousand years ago, displays the life stories of the Tibet Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism. The Jade Dragon Mountain is snow-capped year round, with an altitude of 5,596 meters. You would take the cable car from its mountainside Dry Sea meadow and reach a height of 4,506 meters. Walk around and enjoy the majestic views. Finally, drive back to visit the Black Dragon Pool, a scenic pond located at the foot of Elephant Hill and offers a spectacular view on the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, over its white marble bridge.

Black Dragon Pool

Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang (L) 
Lijiang airport pickup and transfer to hotel. After lunch, we will first explore the most important attraction of Lijiang-Lijiang Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its well preserved minority buildings and culture. Then move on to the picturesque Black Dragon Pool Park, where you will have an opportunity to learn about the Dongba culture at the Dongba Cultural Research Institute. Finally, ascent the Wangu Tower on the top of Lion Hill for a bird’s view of the town in sunset.

Day 2 Lijiang (B, L)
Full day excursion to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area. You will take ropeway up to the Yak Meadow on the mountain at 3,700 high to enjoy the gorgeousness of the snow-capped mountain. Get down to visit the White Water River, the scenic Jade Water Village aside the lake, the mysterious Dongba Gods Garden, and the Jade Summit Lamasery. During the tour, watch the grand open-air cultural show with the mountain as backdrop-Impression Lijiang demonstrating the traditions and lifestyles of the Naxi, Yi and Bai peoples of the area.

Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang (L)
Airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Start our exploration in the World Heritage Site- Lijiang Old Town. You will take a stroll on the Square Street, the center square of the old town where four main streets radiate to four directions and are connected with each other by many narrow lanes. Continue to walk through the town, and you will be impressed by swift streams, small bridges, cobbled streets and grey tiled roofs of the local houses, as well as the local Naxi traditional dresses.

Day 2 Lijiang (B, L)
In the morning, drive to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain scenic area. You will first enjoy the beautiful landscape at the White Water River that flows at the foot of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Then move on to the Dry Sea, originally a highland glacial lake at the eastern foot of the mountain but now a vast meadow, where you can get a panorama of the mountain. From the Dry Sea, take a cable car to the Spruce Plateau and overlook the mountain.
Transfer to Baisha Village. You will pay a visit to a local Naxi family, and go to appreciate the delicate Baisha Murals of 600 years’ history. Finally come to the Yuhu Village and visit the Former Residence of Joseph Rock, where you will learn about the extraordinary life of the Austria-American explorer.

Day 3 Lijiang (B, L)
Today you will take an excursion to the Tiger Leaping Gorge, about 62 miles northwest of Lijiang Old Town and is believed to be the world’s deepest canyon located on the upstream of the Yangtze River in Yunnan. Continue to visit the First Bend of the Yangtze River where the river takes an unusual sudden turn at the Stone Drum Town and forms imposing scenery. You will then see the Iron Chain Bridge in the Stone Drum Town which got its name from a large, cylindrical, marble tablet shaped into a drum.

Dongba Museum

Day 1 Arrive in Lijiang (L)
Lijiang airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Day 2 Lijiang (B, L)
In the morning, take the bus to Lashi Lake wetland, which is the paradise for thousands of birds and animals and would become spectacular when thousands of water fowls migrate afar from the north each fall and winter. Cycle around the Lake about 3 hours. After lunch in the Naxi village nearby, drive back to your hotel. Free time to explore the charming Lijiang Old Town on your own.

Day 3 Lijiang (B, L)

In the morning, drive 2.5 hours to Changsheng village of Qiaotou town where the Tiger Leaping Gorge hiking starts, with the First Bend of Yangtze en route. Firstly, hike two hours to Naxi Family guest house, have a lunch there. Then continue to hike another 2 hours on the 28 Bends, a difficult route up the gorge trail but providing remarkable views. Hike another 2-3 hours and we will arrive at the Halfway Guest House for overnight. The guest house offers a great view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and overlooking the Jiansha River Valley.

Day 4 Lijiang (B, L)
We will get up in the early morning and hike down 2 hours to Tina’s Guest House, passing through the famed Guanyin Waterfall and Guanyin Gorge on the way. After lunch at Tina’s, walk 1 hour down the steep cliff to the narrowest part of the gorge where a tiger can easily jump over. Walk 1 hour back to Tina’s and drive half an hour to reach Xincun village pier, the lower section of the Gorge where you will take ferry across the river to Daju pier (1.5-2 hours). From Daju pier drive 2.5 hours to Lijiang.

Day 5 Depart Lijiang (B)

Pick up at your hotel and transfer to Wase Village Pier, from where you will start today’s hiking tour around the beautiful Erhai Lake.

Hiking along the lake, you will see the reflection of Cangshan Mountain in the lake and the local people fishing on their small boat. Have a local lunch at the pretty Shuanglang Fishing Village.

Continue your hiking by traveling through some local villages and take pictures. You will pass the Haichaohe Village and Machang Village and then arrive in the Shangguan Market. Be transferred back to hotel after the tour.

Day 1 Arrive in Dali (L)
Airport pickup and transfer to hotel. Drive to Xizhou Village, an ethnic village located about 18 km north of Dali. In the Xizhou Village, you will visit the traditional houses of Bai people, greeted in the local family with the three-course tea ceremony and the song & dance performance.
After typical local lunch, drop in on some local farming families and the pretty Fishing Village of Shuanglang to see the local Bai people’s typical way of life. Also you can stroll along the crystal blue Erhai Lake for a while. Following this is a visit to local Indigo Workshop where you can appreciate the traditional way of indigo dying. Continue to visit Three Pagodas, built a thousand years ago and considered landmark of Dali.
Drive back to Dali. Enjoy a leisure stroll in Dali Old Town in the evening.

Day 1 Arrive in Dali

Day 2 Dali (B, L)
First visit the Dali Old Town located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. It is a famous historic and cultural city of China, and lives simple Bai people, with finely decorated traditional houses, beautiful gardens and clear streams of water. Then come to the Agricultural Trade Market to see how the local people go about their daily life. Move on to the Three Pagodas between the Cangshan Mountain and Erhai Lake, which is considered the landmark of Dali.

Day 3 Dali (B, L)
Take a pleasant cruise on the beautiful ear-shaped Erhai Lake. Drive to Xizhou Town, a famous historic city 16 km away from the Dali Old Town, to appreciate the traditional Houses of Bai people as well as the local customs and dresses.

Lijiang Old Town

Day 1 Arrive in Kunming
Meet our guide at the exit of the airport and be transferred to hotel. The guide will hold a paper sign with your name on for you to recognize. The rest of the day is free on your own to explore the city.

Day 2 Kunming (B, L)
Visit Qiongzhu Temple and Stone Forest. Qiongzhu Temple, or Bamboo Temple is a Buddhist temple situated on Yu’an Mountain. It offers natural, artistic and cultural insight. There is a mysterious legend about the origins of the temple and its bamboo forest. Stone Forest is a notable set of limestone formations located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County.

Day 3 Kunming-Dali (B, L)
Hotel pickup and transfer to airport. Take an early morning flight to Dali. Upon arrival, be picked up by the local guide and then start our beautiful Dali trip.
Firstly, visit the Erhai Lake Park, which was built to provide tourists the convenience of watching the famous Erhai Lake, named after its shape like an ‘ear’. Then move on to the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, which has a history of 1800 years and is a symbol of the history of Dali city. Finally head to the essence of Dali culture-Dali Old Town, attractive by grand city wall and traditional Bai minority houses.

Day 4 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)
Drive to Lijiang (about 3 hours). On the way, visit the Bai people traditional houses in Xizhou town and a Tie-dye Workshop in Zhoucheng. Arrive in Lijiang and enjoy the beautiful scene of Lijiang Old Town, which is a well-preserved old city of ethnic minorities with brilliant culture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 5 Lijiang (B, L)
Today you are able to experience more local minority culture. Visit the Baisha Village and a local Naxi family, the Baisha Murals, and the Rock Joseph’s Former Residence in Yuhu Village. Afternoon is free for you to enjoy the small bridges, swift streams, cobbled streets and grey tiled roofs of the residential houses in the Lijiang Old Town. In the evening, enjoy the Naxi Ancient Music and Dance Performance at Dongba Palace.

Day 2 Kunming (B, L)
Visit the Stone Forest scenic area, fantastic karst landscape located 90 km southeast of Kunming. It is also the home of Sani people, whose colorful minority culture will leave you a deep impression. Then drop by the Kunming Hand Workshop near the Yangzong Lake, which sells embroidery clothes, wall carpet and some ethnic style embroidery hand crafts.

Day 3 Kunming-Dali (B, L)
Hotel to airport transfer; fly to Dali. Upon arrival, be picked up by local guide and then start our exploration in Dali. Visit the Houses of Bai People in Xizhou Town which is 16 km away from Dali Old Town, the ancient Three Pagodas, considered the landmark of Dali, the Houses of Bai People in Zhoucheng Town, and the Tie-dye Family Workshop in Zhoucheng, which displays the Bai people’s traditional handicraft.

Day 4 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)

Come to visit the famous Jade Dragon Mountain scenic spot. The mountain is snowcapped year round and displays amazing natural scenery. The cable car will take you up to a height of 4506 meters on the mountain. Then head to the Yufengsi Lamasery/Jade Summit Lamasery, built in the Qing Dynasty and famous for a 500-year old camellia tree planted in the temple.

Day 7 Lijiang-Kunming

Day 1 Arrive in Kunming

Day 2 Kunming (B, L)
A full day excursion takes you to the Stone Forest, a natural wonder of karst landscape. On the way, you will enjoy a visit to a typical Yi minority village and meet the local people.

Day 3 Kunming-Dali (B, L)
Fly to Dali in early morning. After lunch, start our tours in this important stop on the Yunnan-Tibetan plateau. The crystal blue Erhai Lake is a notable plateau lake for its clearness and beauty. In the Xizhou Bai Minority Village, you may enjoy the folk songs and dances of the Bai people while being served the famous Three Courses of Tea. The Three Pagodas built 1,300 years ago represents symbol of Dali. It is so pleasant to have a leisure stroll in the Dali Old Town in the evening.

Day 4 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)
After breakfast, drive about 3 hours to Shaxi Ancient Town. Nestled in a beautiful green valley, it is the only survival ancient bazaar on tea-horse old road. You will take a leisure stroll in Sidengjie Village, which was listed as a protected world architectural heritage site by the World Architecture Foundation. Continue to visit Shibaoshan Caves, housing a rich collection of Buddhist statues to admire.
Drive to Lijiang.

Day 5 Lijiang (B, L)
After breakfast visit the Former Residence of Dr. Joseph Rock in Yuhu Naxi Minority Village. In the afternoon come to Baisha Village, famous for the historical murals painted in some houses. Move on to the King Mu’s Mansion which was once the residential and working site of the Naxi rulers of Lijiang in the ancient time. Finally, stroll on the beautiful Lijiang Old Town World Heritage Site.

Day 6 Lijiang (B, L)  
Firstly, visit the beautiful Black Dragon Pool, which is considered the water source of Lijiang old town and the fields around. Then go to the Dongba Culture Exhibition Museum to learn about the mysterious Naxi minority culture. Continue to visit Lashhai Lake which has been approved as a plateau wetland nature reserve in Yunan since 1998. You will take the horse-ride and experience local custom.

Day 1 Arrive in Kunming

Visit the vibrant Flower & Bird Market, the Central Square of old town quarter and Kunming’s symbol building–Golden Horse & Green Phoenix Archway.

Day 2 Kunming (B, L)
Today take an excursion to the Stone Forest, a natural wonder of karst landscape. The area is also home of many ethnic villages and you are able to visit a Sani people ethnic village to experience local minority culture.

Day 3 Kunming-Dali (B, L)
Morning tour to the scenic Western Hills from where you can overlook the famous Dianchi Lake, which is also a popular resort.
Afternoon drive to Dali and free time to explore the Dali Old Town on your own. It appears more charming after sunset.

Day 4 Dali (B, L)
Morning cruise the ear-shaped Erhai Lake. Disembark to visit Xizhou Village to explore Bai people’s traditional houses and taste the Three Courses of Tea, which is the reception etiquette of the minority. After lunch, come to a Tie-dye Workshop in Zhoucheng Village to learn about Bai’s patterned tie-dyed cloth handicraft, and then head for the famous Three Pagodas. At night, have fun on the Foreigner Street in the Dali old town.

Day 5 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)
After breakfast, drive to Lijiang. This afternoon, explore UNESCO World Heritage Site Lijiang Old Town, and the nearby Black Dragon Pool, a famous pond in the scenic Jade Spring Park which is further home to Dongba Culture Research Institute and the Dongba Culture Museum. Then climb the Wangu Tower on Lion Hill for bird’s views of the town as well as the King Mu’s Mansion in sunset.

Day 6 Lijiang (B, L, D)

Stone Forest

Day 1 Arrive in Kunming

Visit the Grand View Pavilion, a beautiful garden greatly located near the Dianchi Lake and famous for its longest couplet inscribed on the doorposts.

Day 2 Kunming (B, L)
Take an excursion to the Stone Forest scenic area, 78 km away from Kunming. The attraction is a natural wonder in the world with its typical karst landscapes. It is also hometown of Yi/Sani people and you will be impressed by the local minority culture.

Day 3 Kunming-Dali (B, L)
Morning visit to Yuantong Temple and Western Hill. Yuantong Temple, with a history of more than 1200 years, is the grandest as well as the most important Buddhist temple in Yunnan. The Western Hill is the best observation for the famous Dianchi Lake.
After lunch, pay a visit to Yunnan Ethnic Villages where showcases the culture and customs of all the ethnic groups in Yunnan Province.
Be transferred to airport and fly to Dali.

Day 4 Dali (B, L)
Today’s activities include a boat cruise on the beautiful Erhai Lake, enjoying the 3 Courses of Tea show, visit to the historic landmark of Dali-Three Pagodas, the picturesque Cangshan Mountain known for its snow, clouds, springs and marble, and the well-preserved Dali Old Town with traditional architecture and minority culture.

Day 5 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)
Drive to Lijiang by our car (4 hours). Have lunch and then visit the Lijiang Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for the brilliant minority culture as well as beautiful water town landscape. Come to the beautiful Black Dragon Pool, which is considered the water source of Lijiang old town.

Day 6 Lijiang (B, L)
In the morning, ascend to the majestic Jade Dragon Snow Mountain by cable car. The mountain is snow-capped year round and is also home to rare animals and wild plants.
In the afternoon, enjoy the fantastic show-Impression Lijiang, a grand open-air performance with the mountain as backdrop, vividly displaying the local minority life and culture.

Day 7 Lijiang-Kunming (B, L)
Continue to explore more in the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain area. The Jade Summit Lamasery, built in the Qing Dynasty is famous for a 500-year old camellia tree planted in the temple. The Jade Water Village near is home to the Naxi tribal people. Yuzhuqingtian (Jade Pillar Supporting the Sky) is a state 2A-level scenic spot located in Yuhu Naxi Village. Major sights include inscriptions on the cliff, Taizi (Prince) Cave and Guanyin (God of Mercy) cliff. Dongba Kingdom, Dongba Park, and Dongba Valley reappear the great Dongba culture with well-designed exhibits and shows.
After lunch be escorted to the airport and fly back to Kunming.

Day 8 Depart Kunming (B)
Pay a visit to the Flowers and Birds Market before being transferred to the airport for departure.

Finally head to the essence of Dali culture-Dali Old Town, attractive by grand city wall and traditional Bai minority houses.

Day 4 Dali-Lijiang (B, L)
Drive to Lijiang (about 3 hours). On the way, visit the Bai people traditional houses in Xizhou town and a Tie-dye Workshop in Zhoucheng town. Arrive in Lijiang and enjoy the Naxi minority ancient music and dance performance at Dongba Palace.

Day 5 Lijiang (B)
Visit the Square Street of Lijiang Old Town. The Square Street is the heart of the old town, with streets from all directions converging here. You can arrange your rest time to explore the town-the channels, bridges, and minority style houses, etc.

Day 6 Lijiang (B, L)
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Visit the Dry Sea, now a beautiful meadow from where we will take a cable car to reach its mountainside meadow-Spruce Plateau for views of the mountain landscape. Transfer to visit the Baisha Village, which is the oldest settlement of Naxi people and known for the Baisha Murals. Come to the Yuhu Village and call at the Rock Joseph’s Former Residence.

Day 7 Lijiang-Kunming (B, L)
Be escorted to airport and fly black to Kunming; upon arrival be transferred to hotel.
Visit other typical Kunming attractions. The Golden Temple, also known as Taihe Palace is a Taoist temple located on the top of the Mingfeng Hill and is the largest copper temple in China. The Grand View Park is known for the Grand View Pavilion which is a good observation for the famous Dian Lake and Western Hill. The Birds and Flower Market is an interesting place to take a stroll on.

Day 8 Depart Kunming (B)
Free time before being transferred to airport for departure. Thanks for using our services.
